Glorious London spring

I.have been waiting for so long, a whole rainy winter is gone and now a glorious sunny-time seems to be here, again, for us to enjoy all along London town.

Really, leaving the hole, going around the parks, an ice-cream in your hand, the sun shining, children playing and laughing, nature showing its best side, flowers blooming, squirrels running, opens your heart to new life and good hope.

I have just put some pics together to share this lovely London Spring 2014.

Ho aspettato così tanto, un intero inverno piovoso ormai lontano e adesso il sole sembra essere di nuovo qui, da godere in tutta la città.

Davvero, lasciare la tana, girovagare fra i parchi, un gelato in mano, il sole che splende, i bambini che ridono e giocano, la natura nella sua veste migliore, i fiori che sbocciano, apre il cuore a nuova vita e buona speranza.

Così ho messo insieme un po' di foto, da condividere per questa meravigliosa primavera di Londra versione 2014.

Location Location Location!

Busy days for Teddy: he's moving and looking for a new hole. And me with him.
3 weeks and he (we)'ll be sleeping somewhere else, dreaming under a new piece of heaven.
Life is always unpredictable in London and you never know what to expect month by month.
Anyway, changing for something better is always good, and it's what we have to focus on facing this period.
We are not moving 3 corners from here, no, when it comes to these things you must do it in the best possible way, so we'll move completely on the other side, 2 hours and a half by car. 
Nice:
- to view new properties and fix appointments knowing that you must count at least 5 hours of transfer with return
- to plan all your things' moving during the free days
- to update all your registrations details of every possible branch, institution, office...
One thing by one. 
Do and don't think. 
This will be my motto and Teddy seems to agree. 
I'll keep you updated!

Sono giorni impegnativi per Teddy: deve traslocare e io con lui.
3 settimane e staremo dormendo da qualche altra parte, osservando un nuovo pezzo di cielo.
La vita è sempre imprevedibile a Londra e non sai mai cosa aspettarti.
Ad ogni modo cambiare per qualcosa di meglio è sempre buona cosa, ed è ciò che dobbiamo tenere in mente affrontando questo periodo.
Perchè non ci stiamo muovendo 3 strade più in là, no, quando fai queste cose devi farle per bene, quindi ci spostiamo completamente dall'altra parte della città, 2 ore e mezza di macchina.
Bello:
- vedere nuove proprietà e fissare appuntamenti sapendo di dover contare almeno 5 ore di transfer A/R
- pianificare di spostare tutte le tue cose nei giorni liberi
- aggiornare tutte le registrazioni tra filiali, istituzioni, uffici...
Una cosa alla volta.
Fare e non pensare.
Questo sarà il mio motto e Teddy sembra essere d'accordo.

Meet me at Sweet Couture

Sweet Couture Cake Boutique... one of my favourite places in London. I have already mentioned it in another post in the past but now I want to focus on it.
 Well, this is the one I have chosen to buy the cupcakes for my first birthday in London and Sweet Couture has become sweet memory!

I am a demanding bear in certain occasions, even more if we are talking about celebrations! 
So I really like this cute little corner just 3 minutes from Covent Garden going to Leicester Square. It's warm and you will find a lot of different fantastic cupcakes.
What I love most is the perfect balance I find in the butter frosting: it does not hyde the flavour of the cupcake, it simply matches it and improves it. It's deliciously perfect!

Sweet Couture Cake Boutique... uno dei miei posti preferiti a Londra. Ne ho già parlato in un post precedente ma voglio approfondire stavolta.
Ebbene, questo l'ho scelto per il primo compleanno che ho passato qui ed è diventato un dolce ricordo!
Io sono un orsetto esigente a volte, specialmente se si tratta di festeggiamenti!
Adoro questo piccolo angolino a 3 minuti da Covent Garden andando verso Leicester Square. E' accogliente, caldo e ci troverete un sacco di cupcakes tutti diversi.
Ciò che amo di più è il perfetto equilibrio che trovo nella copertura alla crema di burro: non nasconde il sapore del cupcakes, ma si sposa perfettamente e lo valorizza. Deliziosamente perfetto!

It's winter even if it's not so cold (yet...?) but sometimes it rains... a lot. Really a lot.
So enjoying my hibernation in my warm hole I keep an eye to our glorious Thames, that goes up and down... luckily down!
I really hope it will go back to its usual level because other bear-friends are having some problems at the moment. In the end, it's only 3 or 4 months to go...!!! Where are you Spring?

E'.inverno, anche se non troppo rigido (non ancora...?) però talvolta piove e tanto anche.
Quindi passando il mio letargo al calduccio nel mio buco tengo un occhio sul nostro glorioso Tamigi che in questo periodo va su e giù, anzi, per fortuna giù!
Spero davvero che torni presto ai suoi livelli usuali perchè alcuni amici orsetti stanno avendo problemi in giro.
Alla fine mancano solo 3/4 mesi... Dove sei Primavera?

Happy New Year! 2014 mode: activated!

Happy New Year Everybody!!! I am just slowly waking up from the most unpredictable New Year's Eve I have ever experienced. 

Firstly, yesterday, I helped a lot of other nice and kind bear friends to prepare their party and enjoy it. Then, at 10o'clock I was unexpectedly free. I had 2 hours to plan my londoner NYE, without any plan! So, I imagined some options: the quietest, due to the fact that I had not eaten since the morning and it was supposed to rain, I took inspiration from a famous italian movie scene, Un Americano a Roma, where the unforgotten Alberto Sordi eats an enormous plate of delicious spaghetti. It would have been useful for a little bear like me to renovate my energy with such good food, but I prefered to leave this choice for January, 1st, today, when I have more time to spend in cooking, and I can maybe enjoy this really funny and interesting movie of the real italian culture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-CFmuj6jgE

Secondly I was suggested to go to Richmond: there's a corner in the Park where it's possible to see the Fireworks at the London Eye with a beautiful view.

But 2 hours are a lot of time indeed: you can do whatever you want with such a long time! So, I ran home on my little legs, prepared my rucksack with chips, biscuits and a can of Coke to open at midnight (it would have been sad non to have anything to drink at all at that point!), ran to the Tube, came out at Piccadilly, reached Trafalgar Square at 11,40! It was not possible to go closer to the Thames, it was so full of people from all over the world! So, as usual and as you can see, I reached one of my perfect pole-positions ;) We followed the countdown on the big screen, and at Midnight what a wonderful mix of Big Ben's sound, songs, fireworks, energy and enthusiasm! It was 2014 in London, Greenwich timezone!!!

After that, it was possible to reach different points of the city center where free buses were available to bring people home. This is such a fantastic city!

So Happy New Year everybody, with warm hearts, kindness and lot of love!

 Buon anno a tutti! Mi sto lentamente risvegliando dal Capodanno più inaspettato che potessi avere! Dapprima ieri mi sono occupato di aiutare tanti amici orsetti a preparare e godersi il loro Veglione, poi improvvisamente, alle 10,00 mi sono ritrovato libero! Avevo 2 ore per preparare il mio personale Capodanno londinese senza alcun piano preventivo. Bello! Ho immaginato alcune opzioni: la prima, la più tranquilla, derivante dal fatto che non avevo ancora mangiato dalla mattina e sembrava dovesse piovere, ho preso ispirazione da un famoso film italiano dell'indimenticato Alberto Sordi: Un Americano a Roma, in cui lui si divora un enorme piatto di deliziosi spaghetti. Sarebbe stato utile per un orsetto come me riprendere energia da così buon cibo. Ho pensato però di lasciare questa idea magari per il 1 gennaio, oggi, in cui ho più tempo per darmi alla cucina con calma e, perchè no, posso rivedermi quel film così simbolico della cultura italiana: vi lascio il link al trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-CFmuj6jgE
Seconda opzione che mi è stata anche suggerita: andare a Richmond dove da un punto specifico del Parco si ha un'ottima vista sui fuochi d'artificio del London Eye.
Ma 2 ore erano ben 2 ore! Con 2 ore puoi fare tutto quello che vuoi, basta organizzarsi! Allora sono corso alla mia tana sulle mie zampette, ho riempito il mio zaino di patatine, biscotti e una lattina per avere almeno qualcosa da bere al momento cruciale, sono corso alla metro, sbucato a Piccadilly che già pullulava di movimento, ho raggiunto Trafalgar Square e da lì non si poteva procedere oltre vista la quantità di gente che c'era fino al Tamigi, ma io come sempre mi sono guadagnato una delle mie pole-positions e a mezzanotte è stato un mix del rintocco del Big Ben, musica, fuochi aritificiali, energia ed entusiasmo! E' 2014, a Londra, ora di Greenwich!
Fatto ciò, era possibile raggiungere differenti punti del centro dove partivano gli autobus gratuiti per tutte le zone della città, affinchè tutti potessero raggiungere casa. Questa città è davvero straordinaria!
Quindi Buon Anno Nuovo, pieno di calore nei vostri cuori e tanto amore!

Goodbye 2013

L'anno volge al termine e mi è naturale voltarmi indietro. Ho sempre amato gli ultimi 2 mesi dell'anno per la serenità che mi da il fatto di essere giunta ancora una volta ad un compimento.
Il 2013 che si va a chiudere ha portato assestamento (e meno male!) dopo le montagne russe dell'anno prima.
Londra mi ha regalato tantissimo in termini di sorprese e soddisfazioni, o per lo meno, situazioni a cui io ho personalmente dato un valore, facendomi sentire di nuovo all'interno di un percorso di evoluzione, di un futuro da costruire: non è affatto scontato con i tempi che corrono e il fatto che dipenda tutto esclusivamente da me è ancora più avvincente.
Essere soli lontano da casa poi è un'esperienza nell'esperienza: si ascolta il fuori di noi ma ancor più il dentro di noi e si matura la consapevolezza che ogni reazione fisica può avere una causa dettata dal cambiamento complessivo di abitudini, a partire dalle più semplici, come il cibo, la routine, e che anche in questo caso, prendersi cura di se stessi dipende solo da noi. Un bel percorso di conoscenza davvero.
Ho letto qualche tempo fa l'intervista a ragazzi che vivevano esperienze simili e loro si erano dati questa regola: dal momento che cambiare Paese è una sfida quando hai fame mangia e quando hai sonno dormi.
Sembra una banalità, ma a volte le energie calano ancor più per l'accumularsi di tutte le decisioni e le responsabilità di cui farsi carico da soli in un Paese estero che non per normali ritmi fisici. Eppure a fine giornata la soddisfazione è alta: equivale a portare a casa un risultato ogni giorno e anche questo è fonte di energia.
Mi auguro quindi che tanti amici e conoscenti o semplicemente chi passa per caso da questo blog possa pensare ad un anno trascorso con la stessa forza e vivacità, con la soddisfazione personale di avercela fatta ancora una volta nel nostro piccolo o grande. E' da lì che nasce l'equilibrio per spendersi poi per gli altri.

This year is turning to the end and it comes natural to me to look back. I have always loved the last 2 months of the year, when you are sure you did it, you got a final result.
This 2013 has been "quiet" after previous year's roller coasters! London has gifted me with satisfactions and surprises, or anyway, precious moments I have given a value, making me feel in a way of evolution, making me feel a future to grow: it's not so obvious in these years we are living and it's challenging to know that every goal depends on me.
Being alone, far from home, is an experience in the experience: you focus on what is out of you but even more on what is inside you, realizing that sometimes, reactions are just the effect of changes, of your habits, like food, daily routine and so on. Taking care of yourself depends exclusively on yourself and this is an interesting self test.
Reading others experiences, it has happened to me to cross the interview of guys saying that living in a foreign country is a challenge, so "sleep when you are tired and eat when you are hungry". It seems so simple indeed, but sometimes energy falls down just because of all the responsibilities and decisions you must take by yourself, hoping they are the good ones. I have to admit, at the end of the day it's a satisfaction, it's like getting a result every day and this gives you new energy.
Finally what I hope for friends or even people who cross this blog by chance is to be able to do a resume of this year full of energy and potential, sure to have reached our big or little goals. This gives us the balance to stand for each other.

Christmas holidays idea: We will rock you, the musical

I was here since less than one month, I remember that grey afternoon finding my space between hundred of legs for the first time in Oxford Street, jumping from one shop to the other to discover that exciting area of London, getting so tired that I had to stop for my first white chocolate and raspberry muffin. I was just preparing myself to attend my first musical in the city: We will rock you, Dominion Theatre.
What a stunning start to enjoy London nights out!
This musical is absolutely emotional, a battle between good and evil in bringin back music to the world, standardized by globalization, enjoying Queen's most famous and vibrant songs.
I won't reveal the end, I will just say that you will feel Freddie Mercury's presence from the beginning to the final scene, when a drop could fall from your eyes.
So why don't you take a ride to Feltham, where Freddie used to live his first years in London with his family? There you'll find the discreet memorial star put in his honour and unforgotten voice.

Ero arrivato da meno di un mese, ricordo un pomeriggio grigio cercando per la prima volta di farmi largo fra le centinaia di gambe in Oxford Street, saltellando da un negozio all'altro senza sosta per scoprire questo lato di Londra. Mi ero stancato così tanto che ho dovuto prendermi una pausa e fu così che assaggiai il mio primo muffin lamponi e cioccolato bianco. Mi stavo preparando al mio primo musical in città: We will rock you, al Dominion Theatre.
Non c'era modo migliore di iniziare la vita serale londinese!
Questo musical è molto emozionante, una battaglia fra bene e male per cercare di riportare la musica nel mondo, standardizzato dalla globalizzazione, godendosi i più famosi e coinvolgenti successi dei Queen.
Non vi rivelerò la fine, vi dirò soltanto che la presenza di Freddie Mercury si sente dall'inizio alla scena finale, quando forse una lacrima vi righerà il viso.
Quindi perchè non fare un fuori programma a Feltham, dove Freddie trascorse i suoi primi anni a Londra? Ci troverete una stella, discreto memorial in onore suo e alla sua voce indimenticata.

Meet me at Mooca Cafe in Barnes

There's something I really like when I am free to go downtown: taking a bus, not caring where it is for, and just jumping down as I see something interesting.
So a few days ago I chose a bus from Hammersmith and started my journey.
I stopped 20 minutes after in a lovely corner, between interior design shops windows and lovely cafe, in Barnes.
I am a traveller bear and sometimes I like catching the opportunity to be in London feeling in another country, so I walked around a lovely cafè, with little tables and chairs outside that looked like a french brasserie on the streets of Paris: the Mooca Cafe, near Church Street (Post code SW13 9HS).
I jumped in and I was welcomed in french and italian, then in english: it was really funny playing with languages while choosing what to eat!
I ordered a delicious Ham&cheese&pepper french crèpe and a cup of tea: the real french-english mix&match!
It was really tasting and well done, the crèpe had a well balanced not-too-sweet flavour that perfectly met the filling.
It seemed to be under the Tour Eiffel, but the Big Ben was much closer!



C'è una cosa che mi piace fare, quando posso scendere in città: prendere un autobus, indipendentemente da dove va, e saltare giù se vedo qualcosa di interessante.
Così, qualche giorno fa ho preso un bus da Hammersmith e sono semplicemente sceso 20 minuti dopo, in un angolo molto carino con vetrine di negozi di decorazioni e interior design e cafe particolari.

Io sono un orsetto viaggiatore e mi piace cogliere l'opportunità di essere a Londra sentendomi in un altro Paese, così sono entrato in un cafe che aveva una piccola distesa esterna di deliziosi tavolini e sedie che sembravano quelli di una brasserie francese: il Mooca Cafe, vicino a Church Street (Post code SW13 9HS).
Sono saltato dentro, accolto in francese e italiano, poi in inglese: è stato divertente giocare con le lingue nello scegliere cosa mangiare!
Ho ordinato una deliziosa crèpe con prosciutto, formaggio e pepe e una tazza di te: il perfetto mix&match franco-inglese!
Era tutto molto gustoso, l'impasto fresco della crèpe non era troppo dolce e si sposava bene con il ripieno.
Sembrava di stare sotto la Tour Eiffel, ma il Big Ben era molto più vicino!

Carnaby Street's Christmas Time

Hi my friends! Your little Teddy Bear is this week in Carnaby Street (we all need some shopping after a cup of tea!).

Carnaby is always a little more original, unique and different than the other festive corners of the city, last year the holiday decorations were focused on the Rolling Stones, 2013 will be the year of the Robin, that welcomes you before starting your Christmas tours and shopping between Soho and Mayfair. 
Look up above your nose the big suspended robins that will bring good luck for the forthcoming year!

Ciao amici! Il vostro orsetto Teddy questa settimana si è fermato a Carnaby Street (fa sempre bene un po' di shopping dopo una tazza di te!)
Carnaby è sempre unica ed originale nel suo genere rispetto agli altri angoli atalizi della città e se l'anno scorso si era focalizzata sui Rolling stones, quest'anno è invece il turno del Pettirosso, che vi darà il benvenuto per i vostri tour festivi tra Soho e Mayfair.
Guardate sopra il vostro naso i grandi pettirossi sospesi, vi porteranno buone cose per il nuovo anno imminente!

Meet me at Camellia's Tea House

Today I want to introduce you another fantastic place I really appreciate, even more during the cold season: Camellia's Tea House.



It was one year ago, in a freezing and dark and windy winter afternoon: I was wandering around in Carnaby Street and, suddenly, I saw a passage. I walked in and a little cute and cosy court, all shining with lights and festive decorations opened in front of my eyes. Its name is Kingly Court and there you will find a lot of marvellous vintage shops, design windows and, at the last floor, this lovely and spacious Tea room.
Once inside, you can choose from an unbelievable selection of teas but also hot drinks and you can share a tasting piece of cake.
You will seat between a lot of pots and mugs of every kind, from modern to oriental to vintage and time will definitely fly, chatting in front of a cup of tea. Of course, as a bear, I had to move carefully between all those fragile objects, but I did it well, I'm a kind of gentle-bear!

My favourite is the white apricot tea and the last time I went there I matched it with a delicate slice of rose and raspberry cake. I could taste also a fabulous and well balanced chocolate cake that I won't forget!
Actually, closing the eyes in front of that lovely pinky piece of cake it seemed to leave winter for a while and see the marvellous spring colours in bloom. But it's still not time for it! Let's enjoy the festive season before!



Oggi voglio parlarvi di un altro posto fantastico in cui mi piace andare, specialmente durante la stagione fredda: Camellia's Tea House .
Era circa un anno fa, in un freddo, gelido e oscuro pomeriggio d'inverno: stavo vagando per Carnaby Street quando all'improvviso, ho visto un piccolo passagio. Lo varcai e mi si aprì davanti una piccola e accogliente corte, che splendeva di luci e decorazioni a festa. Il suo nome è Kingly Court e ci troverete bellissimi negozi vintage e vetrine di design e, all'ultimo piano, questa graziosa sala da te.
Una volta entrati, potrete scegliere fra un'incredibile selezione di te, ma anche le più comuni bevande calde e potrete condividere una fetta di torta.
Prenderete posto in mezzo a tante teiere e tazze di ogni tipo, moderne, orientali e vintage e il tempo correrà tra chiacchiere davanti a un buon te. Naturalmente, come orso, dovevo stare un po' attento a muovermi con delicatezza, ma ce l'ho fatta!
Il mio infuso preferito è quello all'albicocca bianca e l'ultima volta l'ho abbinato a una delicata fetta di torta alla rosa e lampone. Ho potuto assaggiare anche un fetta di torta al cioccolato, ben bilanciata e per nulla eccessiva, non la dimenticherò!
Chiudendo gli occhi di fronte a quella fetta di torta rosa pastello, sembrava quasi di lasciare l'inverno per veder sbocciare i colori primaverili, ma è troppo presto ancora, dobbiamo goderci il periodo festivo prima!

Oxford Street Christmas Lights

 

Eccomi a Oxford Street! Cielo! E' una distesa di luci e scintillii! Da non credere! I grandi centri commerciali fanno già mostra delle loro decorazioni e la via fa un bellissimo effetto bolle di neve che si intrecciano con le luci degli alberi. Vi lascio godere le immagini mentre gironzolo fra i negozi in cerca dei regali di Natale!

Here I am in Oxford Street! Oh dear! It is a neverending way of light and sparkles! Believe it or not! Large shopping centers are already showing their decoration and the street is a beautiful snow bubbles effect that are intertwined with the lights of the trees. I leave you enjoy the pictures while I wander among the shops in search of Christmas presents!

Southbank Christmas Market

Continuando il nostro tour natalizio, vi porto con me al Southbank Christmas Market. Southbank è un'area bellissima, da cui si gode il Tamigi tra arte, cultura e iniziative di ogni genere. Il mercatino natalizio abbellisce ancor di più la sponda, con il Big Ben che si staglia in lontananza e il London Eye che lo sovrasta. 

Le luci calde e colorate donano tepore, e ci sono ovviamente i punti ristoro. A me è piaciuta tantissimo la gingerbread house: ricca di case di biscotti di ogni tipo sembra davvero di entrare nella storia di Hansel e Gretel! Chissà cosa sarebbe capitato a un orsetto come me in quella fiaba!

Southbank regala passeggiate indimenticabili tutto l'anno, ma in questo periodo si accendono di luci e sapori nuovi, e non dimenticate: la magia durerà fino al 24 Dicembre! 

Let's continue our tour of the Christmas season and let's go to the Southbank Christmas Market. Southbank is a beautiful area, where you can enjoy the River Thames between art, culture and initiatives of all kinds. The Christmas market gives the bank a special atmosphere, with Big Ben that stands out in the distance and the London Eye above it.
The warm and colorful lights give warmth, and of course you'll find dining options. I absolutely loved the gingerbread house: homes of rich cookies of any kind seems to really get into the story of Hansel and Gretel! Who knows what would have happened to me as a bear in the tale!
Southbank offers unforgettable walks throughout the year, but this time turns on lights and new flavors, and do not forget: the magic will last until December 24th!

 

Christmas Lights Preview

L'inizio di novembre porta un sacco di novità in città. Tra queste si inizia a vociferare di come saranno le luci di Natale 2013 e arrivano le anteprime sulla loro progettazione e gli eventi che ne accompagneranno l'accensione. 

Dai quotidiani locali si apprende che Regent Street sarà a tema Dreamworks: una gioia per i più piccoli ma anche per i grandi e per noi orsetti! Almeno io so già che mi divertirò tantissimo!

November in London means Christmas lights preview: first news about light projects and switch-on events.
Regents Street will host Dreamworks theme this year and it's supposed to be amazingly entertaining for children, adults and little bears like me!

Oxford Street Christmas 2012

Oxford Street, altro attesissimo punto della città, quest'anno mostrerà un effetto neve cadente, ottenuto con luci a basso consumo energetico, in linea con la scelta di luci in Giappone, Madrid e Berlino. E' bello pensare che queste capitali si chiamino le une con le altre nel dare anche un messaggio positivo.

Naturalmente poi aspettiamo di vedere cosa inventeranno i più famosi grandi magazzini che già ad agosto -ricordate?- avevano iniziato ad allestire i reparti natalizi.

Oxford Street is due to show falling snow effects, with energy-saving light bulbs that will create a bright white Christmas atmosphere. The same project seems to be shared in Japan, Berlin and Madrid, with a good practice advice between these capitals connection.
The most famous shopping centers are unvealing their lights and windows as well.

1 year after...

Un anno fa a quest'ora stavo vagando, trolley alla mano, fra Stansted, Heathrow, pullman e bus per trovare il posto dove dormire in vista del colloquio del giorno dopo.
Avevo ricevuto una mail il 4 luglio, data destinica, e in 4 giorni avevo organizzato un espatrio. Ricordo la tazza di te macchiato che il gestore dell'hotel mi offrì chiamandomi "stranger" mentre tra una mappa e il computer mi davo i primi punti di riferimento, senza un'auto, senza una casa, tutto da inventare.
Sinceramente, per quanto fossi determinata e piena di entusiasmo, non tornerei a quel giorno. Non ci rendiamo mai conto di tutte le cose che abbiamo, piccole e rassicuranti, finchè non ci mancano tutte insieme: una macchinetta del caffè, un tetto e quattro mura tutte nostre, un parcheggio sottocasa, un vicino da chiamare per nome, un numero di telefono nella rubrica che abiti appena più vicino di 1500 km.
Mai come in questi 365 giorni ho avuto l'impressione di aver costruito nel vero senso del termine, completamente da zero tutto quanto ho adesso, per quanto la costruzione sia sempre stato un pilastro in tutte le cose che ho fatto in vita mia.
Mi ritrovo un anno dopo con un lavoro che mi da soddisfazioni quotidiane, esperienze sociali assolutamente interessanti e istruttive a partire dal sistema politico-governativo, e una città che, non mi stanco di dirlo quotidianamente, mi ha completamente conquistata al punto da farmi sentire nostalgica se mi allontano per 2 giorni.

Londra ha quel mix di cultura anglo-sassone unita a tutto il bagaglio storico europeo e la dimensione multiculturale e cosmopolita che ne fa crocevia mondiale di qualsiasi cosa si voglia trovare nella vita.
Un anno non è bastato a scoprirne tutti gli angoli più nascosti, è un'esperienza quotidiana senza fine e una concentrazione di eventi inebriante.

Qualcosa che non mi ha fatto rimpiangere nemmeno per un attimo ciò che mi sono lasciata alle spalle, semmai l'unico rammarico è non averlo fatto prima, ma credo anche che nella vita certe fasi avvengano al momento giusto, quando siamo nella condizione migliore per affrontarle.
Tutto questo non sarebbe stato possibile senza il continuo supporto, l'aiuto dei miei genitori e mia sorella, sempre pronti a prendere la macchina e partire per venire a cercare una sistemazione, portare un po' di olio e un po' di pasta (che, ok, si trovano anche qui, ma vuoi mettere la soddisfazione di avere proprio quelli dello scaffale emiliano-romagnolo doc? ;) ) e un po' di compagnia. E' stato reso più facile dalla mia amica Ilaria, che ha compiuto questo passo un po' prima di me e che si è sempre sincerata che tutto andasse bene, soprattutto quando ci inventiamo le nostre gite fuori porta a metà strada per vederci e passare bei momenti insieme. E stato reso più facile dagli amici e amiche che sono venuti a farsi un giro a Londra con cui è sempre  un piacere condividere una fetta di torta alle fragole, e da tutti gli amici che ci sono stati su social network, per mail o via sms che mi ricordano le belle esperienze passate e mi incoraggiano ad andare avanti, senza distinzione di appartenenza e provenienza.
E' stato reso particolarmente divertente dal mio amico Teddy che mi accompagna in giro per le meraviglie di questa città e ve le racconta attraverso questo blog.
