Meet me at Home Sweet Home

La mattina ci ha svegliati con un sole meraviglioso. Della pioggia del giorno prima non c'era più traccia ma della nostra fame sì: siamo orsetti continuamente in cerca di nuove energie! Così siamo tornati sempre nel Quartiere Nord a sperimentare un altro cafè: Home Sweet Home

Il dettaglio che colpisce appena entrati è la distesa di torte e cupcakes che ti accoglie con un imperativo da Paese delle Meraviglie: mangiami!

Così ci siamo goduti una meravigliosa cioccolata con panna e marshmallows con assaggio di cookie, fudge e gelatine e una fetta per uno di quelle torte altissime e gustosissime. Ce le siamo anche scambiate: cocco e cioccolato per me, arancia e cioccolato per Button.

Entrambe così soffici e delicate... yummy! Dovrei riempirci la tana di prelibatezze così per affrontare l'inverno! 

Peccato che la gita volga al termine... è tempo di salutare Button, ringraziarlo per la bella accoglienza che mi ha riservato e i bei momenti passati insieme. Ricorderemo anche questa tra le istantanee più belle, in attesa della prossima volta, a Londra o chissà dove! See you soon my dear good friend!

The morning woke us up with a wonderful sun . There was no trace of the rain but of our hunger yes , as we are always looking for bears new energy !  
So we went back again in Northern Quarter to experience another cafe : Home Sweet Home The striking detail is just entering the expanse of cakes and cupcakes that welcomes you with an imperative to Wonderland : Eat me !
 So we enjoyed a wonderful hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows with taste of cookies, fudge and jellies and a slice for one of those towering cakes and tasty . We have also exchanged: coconut and chocolate for me , orange and chocolate for Button.
 Both so soft and delicate ... yummy! Should I fill the den of delights like these for winter !

Too bad the trip coming to an end ... Button is time to say goodbye , thank you for the warm welcome you have given me and the good times we had together. We will remember this also among the most beautiful snapshots , waiting for the next time , in London or wherever !

Meet me at Sugar Junction

E' proprio il caso di dire che Manchester è stata una gita dolcissima: il mio amico Button infatti mi ha portato a scoprire un paio di tearoom fantastiche!

Siamo arrivati al quartiere Nord che sta diventando famoso per questi localini e ci siamo fiondati dentro. Era infatti un pomeriggio molto umido e bagnato dalle shower, non vere e proprie piogge, bensì quella pioggerella tipicamente inglese, sottile e quasi impercettibile, come se fosse spruzzata da sopra, lì per lì non sembra nemmeno che bagni poi, come entri al calduccio capisci che sei fradicio. Sugar Junction ti accoglie con il meraviglioso profumo di legno del proprio arredo interno, che ti da subito l'impressione di essere in uno chalet di montagna o un cottage della campagna inglese (o nella mia tana fra gli alberi).

Io ero un po' stanco e assonnato per il lungo viaggio così Button ha deciso di rifocillarmi con un delizioso Afternoon Tea (sì, quello famoso di cui vi parlo sempre).

Fra tramezzini, scones con i canditi, crema di burro, confetture, tortine e macarons ci siamo scaldati e riempiti di chiacchiere come non facevamo da tanto e il tempo volava senza che ce ne accorgessimo.

I have to admit that Manchester was a sweet trip : my friend Button in fact led me to discover a couple of fantastic tearoom !We arrived at the Northern Quarter that is becoming famous for these spots and we sling inside. It was indeed a very damp and wet afternoon, soaked by showers , not real rain , drizzle the quintessential English thin and almost imperceptible , as if sprayed from above , then and there does not even seem to get wet then , as you enter the warmth understand that you are sopping.

 Sugar Junction welcomes you to the wonderful aroma of wood of its interior design , which gives you the impression of being in a mountain chalet or a cottage in the English countryside (or in my den in the trees).I was a bit  tired and sleepy along for the ride so Button decided to take some refreshment with a delicious Afternoon Tea (yes, the famous one of which I always speak) .Among sandwiches, scones with candied fruit, cream butter, jams, cakes and macarons we warmed and filled with chatter as we did for so long and the time flew by without us even noticing .

Manchester National Football Museum

Come preannunciato Button e io vi racconteremo alcuni flash del nostro giretto per Manchester. 

Prima di darci allo shopping quindi siamo andati a visitare una novità in città: il National Football Museum. 

L'entrata è gratuita ed è aperto 7/7.

Ci.siamo divertiti un mondo! E' strutturato su 3 piani ed è un'autentica immersione nella storia della lega inglese di calcio, fondata nel 1888, i campionati, la hall of fame con i più grandi giocatori (Gianfranco Zola ha un posto d'onore, si è fatto apprezzare proprio tanto da queste parti), zone interattive dove provare rigori, cimentarsi in telecronache, scoprire notizie e curiosità, passando per gli accessori del perfetto tifoso nei decenni fino alle divise di un tempo... un paradiso per gli appassionati!

As announced Button and I'll tell you some of our flash ride to Manchester. It counts 500 thousand inhabitants but the center is easy to visit.

Before going for shopping, we went to visit a new buzz in town: the National Football Museum.

Admission is free and it's open 7/7.

We had a blast! It's on 3 floors and it is a real immersion in the history of English football league (the so called Premiere League), founded in 1888, the championships, the Hall of Fame with the greatest players (Gianfranco Zola has a place of honor, he was so much appreciated), interactive zones where you can try penalties, live commentary, news and curiosity to discover, accessories for the perfect fan through the decades until the uniforms of the past ... a paradise for lovers!

Introducing a new friend: Button!

Oggi il tempo su Londra è ballerino: c'è il sole ma piove a dirotto lo stesso. Io sono un po' stanco: sono appena tornato da Manchester dove sono andato a trovare il mio super amico Button!!!

E' stato proprio bello condividere te e torte e tramezzini e cookies (tranquilli, documenteremo tutto!) con qualcuno che mi conosce da tanto, che sa cosa significa arrivare in un nuovo Paese perchè è qui da quasi 10 anni ormai (hey Button, bisognerà ben festeggiare l'anno prossimo!! ;) ) e vivere tante nuove avventure!



It's a rainy day in London, a strange rainy day indeed: the sun is shining but it's raining cats and dogs the same. I have to admit: I am a little tired, I just got back from Manchester where I went to visit my super friend Button!!! This is a cute picture of both of us.
We had the time of our life sharing tea, cakes and sandwiches and cookies (we'll report for you, no worries), with someone who knows me so long, and knows what it means to live in a new country, new experiences, new adventures: he's been living here since almost 10 years already! hey Button: we must celebrate this anniversary, don't you think? ;)
