Bath tea break

Della tearoom al Jane Austen Centre di Bath vi ho già detto.
Quindi ora vi presento una deliziosa sala da te che invoglia già da fuori, magari in una giornata fredda, ad accomodarsi sulle poltrone in vimini, le sedie di legno e i cuscini morbidi: You & Me, nel centro della cittadina (Post code: BA1 1EN).
I gestori propongono cakes e cookies artigianali oltre al tradizionale afternoon tea: io avevo freddo e fame dopo tanto camminare e non mi sono negato una bella tazza di te, latte e uno scone farcito di morbida crema di burro e marmellata di frutti rossi.
Una meraviglia da leccarsi baffi!

About the tearoom at the Jane Austen Centre in Bath I have already said.

So now I'll present to you a delightful tea room that makes you want to be out already, maybe on a cold day, to sit on wicker chairs, wooden chairs and soft pillows: You & Me, in the town center (Post code: BA1 1EN ).
This cafè offers cakes and cookies craft in addition to traditional afternoon tea: I was cold and hungry after so much walking and I have not denied a nice cup of tea, milk and a scone stuffed with soft butter cream and jam of red fruits.

A marvel mouth-watering!

Bath and Sensibility...

Oggi vi voglio raccontare di un posto antico e meraviglioso che ho visitato qualche tempo fa: Bath.

Preparato il mio fagottino mi sono messo in viaggio per raggiungere il Somerset, la regione che ospita questa cittadina. Ero contento di andarci perchè l'avevo vista da piccolino e ricordavo ancora un negozietto sulla piazza della chiesa in cui avevo comprato un regalo per fratellino orsetto che era rimasto a casa: ero proprio curioso di vedere se c'era ancora!

Bath mi piace perchè appaga sia la voglia di approfondire la cultura inglese sia quella latino-romana e ora vi racconterò perchè.  

Today I want to tell you about a wonderful old place and I visited some time ago: Bath.
Prepared my bundle I set out to achieve Somerset, the region that is home to this small town. I was glad to go because I had seen her as a baby and I still remembered a small shop on the square of the church where I had bought a gift for brother bear who had remained at home: I was really curious to see if it was still there!

I like Bath because it satisfies both the desire to learn English culture and the Latin-Roman and now I'll tell you why.

La mia gita è partita con il Jane Austen Centre: la più famosa cittadina e scrittrice di Bath è celebrata qui con le sue opere, i costumi dell'epoca, film e documenti che ne ricostruiscono la vita e gli scritti, nonchè una caratteristica sala da te all'ultimo piano per sentirsi veramente eroi ed eroine dei suoi romanzi, che ancora oggi danno vita a film e rivisitazioni praticamente ogni 10 anni, da Pride and Prejudice in avanti.

My trip started with the Jane Austen Centre, the most famous citizen of Bath and writer is celebrated here with his works, period costumes, movies, and documents that represent the life and writings, as well as a characteristic dining on the top floor where you really feel like the heroes and heroines of his novels, which still give rise to films and revivals practically every 10 years, from Pride and Prejudice forward.

Dopo una scrollatina per tornare nella realtà, mi sono incamminato per raggiungere il centro storico: questa zona è dominata dalle Terme Romane ancora in ottimo stato.Un autentico tempio di benessere in cui tutt'oggi sgorgano le acque calde che determinavano il tempo libero dei romani di 2000 anni fa. Animazioni con attori in costume e storie dell'epoca rendono l'esperienza completa, con audioguide in 8 lingue diverse. A testimonianza della grande importanza e valorizzazione dedicata a un tesoro mondiale come questo. Quando mi sono tuffato anche io si sono stupiti tutti, ma non c'erano pesci da acchiappare allora sono risalito subito!

After a little shake to get back into reality, I walked to reach the historic center: This area is dominated by the Roman Baths still in excellent state.Un authentic temple of well-being in which the warm waters still flow which determined the free time of the Romans 2000 years ago. Animations with costumed actors and stories of the time make the experience complete with audio guides in 8 languages. As evidence of the great importance and enhancement dedicated to a world treasure like this. When I dived even I have been amazed at all, but there were no fish to catch then I got straight back!

L'Abbazia medievale è distante appena pochi passi, imponente e chiara nel suo colore miele-dorato: eheh aspettava proprio solo che un orsetto la andasse a visitare! 

The medieval Abbey is located just a few steps, imposing and clear in her honey-golden color: hehe it only expected that the bear was going to visit!

Proprio di fianco il negozietto di souvenir di tanti anni fa: val bene una sosta per qualche ricordino!

Proseguendo si arriva nella zona più moderna dove centri commerciali e outlet si inseriscono perfettamente nel tessuto più antico per un po' di shopping e si trova ancora l'installazione di qualche opera moderna inerente le Olimpiadi dello scorso anno.

Intorno le colline verdissime bagnate dalla pioggia spruzzata ogni tanto dal cielo fanno da cornice e sembra che Mr Darcy debba arrivare, a cavallo, da un momento all'altro.

Right beside the souvenir shop of many years ago, is well worth a stop for a few souvenirs!
Continuing you'll get in the most modern shopping malls and outlets that fit perfectly into the oldest fabric for a bit of shopping and is still installing some modern work inherent in the Olympics last year.
 
All around, the green hills, wet from rain splashed from the sky, are the backdrop and it seems that Mr. Darcy should arrive, on horseback, at any moment.
